Off to Pimlico
On On Sept. 27th the casinoinsight.com crew is going to go to the Martha
Washington Breeders' Cup GIII at Pimlico, it is $150k for 3 year old females.
It should be a fun trip... why?
We are at the end of the 3yo season, In January they all become 4
plus they are fillies. It will give some insight into breeding because the
female bloodline is more scrutinized, they have less opportunities to run and
succeed in graded stakes. We could look for 2yo graded stakes but I
think we are in a funny time where they are not racing them so they can prepare them for their 3yo season in a few months. Last weekend there was a grade III $100k 2yo race, Mr. Jester won, The Cliffs Edge placed, and Pomeroy
showed.
I guess any of them may run in the 2004 Kentucky derby. Oh, There is a 2yo
filly named Class Above that ran in the $100k grade III filly vesion of the
race, trained by Baffert she won by 16 lengths, maybe she could be something
like the seventh filly to ever win the derby next year. She ran one mile in
1:39.04
