PENN NATIONAL RACE COURSE SET FOR ANNUAL
EARLY FALL BREAK FROM LIVE RACING
There will be no live racing at Penn National Race Course for the week of September 7 through September 14. After regularly scheduled track maintenance tasks, the Fall Race meeting will get underway on Thursday night, September 15 and Penn National will continue their Wednesday through Saturday night schedule for live racing through Friday, December 30.
eBetUSA.com will continue to provide our regular calendar of afternoon and night race signals without interruption during the dark period at Penn National Race Course.
There will be free admission and free Penn National live racing programs for all guests in attendance at the Grantville oval from September 15 through September 17. The track will also feature fifty cent hot dogs and sodas on September 17.
$1 MILLION TRAVERS STAKES TOPS BUSY NATIONAL RACE
SCHEDULED FOR WEEKEND OF AUGUST 26-28
The $1 million Travers Stakes will be run on Saturday afternoon, August 27, at historic Saratoga Race Track. The top three-year olds in the nation at this time will meet in the mile and one-quarter Midsummer Classic. Saratoga's card that day will also include the $250,000 Hopeful Stakes which attracts the leading two-year olds that might be good enough to run in next year's Travers. The Saratoga program will begin at 1:00 p.m.
Older horses will dominate the spotlight on Sunday, August 28, in the running of the $250,000 Del Mar Handicap. Racing from the west coast seaside oval starts at 5:00 p.m. eastern time.
