Online Gambler Wins Big from $1.25 Slot Bet at InterCasino

Shoot-O-Rama, the five-reel, five line progressive video slot from InterCasino.com isn’t just the most exciting progressive on the Internet, it’s also one of the most generous according to InterCasino.com player ‘Jimboy’, who just won $175,404 from his $1.25 five-coin wager. Playing just 25 cents a coin, Jimboy was able to line up the requisite five dart winning combination after just 40 spins.

With its funfair styling and five play lines, Shoot-O-Rama has always been a favorite at InterCasino.com, but the amusement-park themed game has taken on a whole new appeal now that it’s a bona fide MEGA-Jackpot payer. By paying out well over the $100,000 MEGA-Jackpot threshold, Shoot-O-Rama has now entered the big leagues along side other InterCasino.com progressives like the ever-popular Rags To Riches.

Just back from Vegas ... baby.

Sorry I have been shirking my blog writing duties. I have been in Vegas the past few days and busy gambling and trying to find cocktail waitresses. I lost a lot of money on the craps tables. There were icicles hanging off the bottom of the tables. Eskimos were throwing the dice. The tables were that cold.
One of my new friends, Jon, has a gambling blog. It is called Gamblog.co.uk.
So I lost money playing craps, made some back playing blackjack, then another friend of mine and I played baccarat but that was to feel like James Bond. I lost there, too. I did well on the horses though and made some bets at Bally’s for Kentucky Derby Futures.
Read on about Vegas.

Back from the horse races, Laurel Park, Maryland

Nothwithstanding the legal issues of slot machines in Maryland, a sticky point in the horse tracks of the state lately, Laurel put on a great show today at the horse races. The races themselves were great, including Richetta, a fabulous horse, but the hosts at Laurel had a number of cool things going on at the same time as the races including ... (click for a bigger image, click back on your browser to come back)
The Washington Redskins Cheerleader, with some lucky dude...

Jack Russel Terrier Races...

...including a hurdle section.

And more...

We all had a great time. The horse situation was good. I wound up pretty much even, but it made the time between the races a lot better since instead of re-handicapping the horses you actually had something to do.
Here are some tips for the Laurel racetrack:
1. The hotdogs are good.
2. However, I strongly advise you to avoid the pizza at all costs. It is absolute crap.
3. Don't scold your kids in public. It's tacky.
4. If you can afford a gold Rolex, you can afford to go to the dentist.
5. Don't try to fix your boots with duct tape.

Off to the races tomorrow: Laurel Park, Maryland

The De Francis is tomorrow, so we are schlepping oureselves from Washington D.C. to Laurel Park Maryland to go. It is generally considered the 4th biggest racing day in Maryland. Woohoo, you might say, but Maryland is a huge horse racing state. If you click the link below it will take you to an article about the day and also the entries. Also, I will be putting my picks on the Internet later tonight when I have a chance to peruse the racing form.
Thanks!

Australian Horse Racing Tab / Unitab Merger

Two of the biggest gambling companies in Australia are merging.
TAB runs the New South Wales sports betting and horse and dog racing paramutuels.
I guess Unitab is in Queensland. This is actually a huge deal, every pub in Australia has betting in it.
So, I'd keep it on my radar screeen.
By the way, there is something nice about a coutnry that assumes that as an adult you can make your own informed choices. Gambling is pervasisve, prostitution is legal (or at least quasi-legal, there are brothels everywhere. Why do we assume that our adults need to be coddled and protected from making their own moral jugements? Blame the Puritains I guess. I digress.)
The article continutes at the link below.

The Stock Market Is Online Gambling

I may be going out on a limb here, but I was just thinking. Isn't the stock market basically gambling? And if that is the case, then aren't E*Trade, Ameritrade, Scottrade, ConTrade and their ilk, just the same as Intercasino. I mean, both companies enable you to play with your money, viz. throw it away or strike it rich.

New Orleans and Louisiana Casinos

This is an AP story about the disaster that is/was casinos in New Orleans.
I guess they thought that it would be a panacea for all the social ills of that poor city. It is still a lot nicer than Atlantic City, but the seedy side there is part of it's charm. Part of the problem was that they limited, severly the number of casinos; thus creating a market and possibilities in corruption for the licensess themselve.
And from my point of view, I have never won any money in Louisiana gambling, I'm not sure why, and one time I did ok on a riverboat, but I just am unlukcy in Louisiana. Apparently Louisiana is pretty unlucky, too.
